The Rotaract Club of Faculty of Law, University of Colombo was established in the year 2012 under the leadership of Rtr. Janith Thilakaratne. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Colombo East, it has been an active member of good standing in the in the Rotaract District 3220.
As a young group of enthusiastic and energetic volunteers, we stand firm in the belief of empowering youth and guiding them towards developing a sense of humanity and enhancing their professionalism. We aim to develop effective leaders and promote reasonable citizenship, creating a positive impact on the community. Within a brief period, we have inspired many undergraduates of the Faculty to be able citizens of society, advocating, and initiating change.
Our club has been able to secure many prestigious accolades from the Rotaract District for its outstanding projects and partnerships. These are; the Gold Award for the most outstanding community service project focusing on the Rotary Focus Area of Maternal and Child Health, the Silver award for the most outstanding Rotary family project, the silver award for the most outstanding community service project focusing on Rotary Focus Area of Peace and Conflict Resolution and the Spirit of the service project.
So far, we have been actively participating in the events of the Rotaract District 3220.As a club, we organize diverse projects to serve the community at all possible levels. The members of our club have grown throughout the years and currently have over 100 members contributing an immense strength to our success.
