Firstly, loitering for immoral intents,
In public places or private enclosures, it presents
An offense that carries potential strife,
Unless one can satisfy the court with their life.
Imprisonment for six months may be their fate,
Or a fine of up to one hundred rupees to abate.
Then there are those called incorrigible rogues,
Who live off earnings from brothels like Vogue.
Procuring individuals for illicit activities,
Such acts bring about legal sensitivities.
On summary conviction, they may be fined,
Or imprisoned for six months, fate not kind.
Conviction on indictment, two years they may face,
With a possibility of whipping, adding to the disgrace.
Youthful bad characters who roam the streets,
Aged twelve to twenty-one, with their own feats,
They may be detained if found in the wrong,
Wandering about or associating with the throng.
To ensure good behavior, a bond they must sign, Or be committed to approved schools, a way to realign.
For girls at risk, provisions are in place,
To protect their innocence and offer solace.
Causing seduction, prostitution, or carnal knowledge,
Is an offense that leads to legal outrage.
A fine of one hundred rupees may be due,
Or imprisonment for six months, that’s true.
Parents and guardians must be cautious and aware,
They may be required to execute a bond, showing they care.
Girls at risk can be removed to safety’s embrace,
Detained up to seven days until a charge they face.
Magistrates have the power to decide their fate,
Ordering care and detention, protecting them from hate.
Those convicted may have the girl taken away,
Placed with a fit person or society, a brighter day.
Operating a brothel, a grave offense it be,
Keeping, managing, assisting, the law decree.
Premises used for habitual prostitution’s plight,
Tenants, owners, lessees, face the law’s might.
Upon conviction, fines of up to 500 rupees may arise,
Imprisonment for six months, a sobering prize.
For subsequent offenses, the fine may double,
Imprisonment of up to one year, causing more trouble.
A recognizance for good behavior may be sought,
Failure to comply can lead to additional imprisonment, a hard knot.
A keeper or manager, whether master or mistress in view,
Will be deemed guilty, regardless if their role is true.
Appearances, actions, or behavior they display,
Prosecution and punishment shall come their way.
Ownership or actual management need not prevail,
Responsibility lies with those who set the sail.
The court holds the power to terminate tenancy,
If convictions occur, they may exercise this leniency.
Possession shall be delivered to rightful hands,
Or a designated person, as the law commands.
Trials for these offenses are held in Magistrate’s Court,
Non-cognizable and bailable, a legal resort.
