This year’s Children’s Day celebration was truly special as we had the privilege of visiting the wonderful children at Shilpa Child Development Centre as the October month visit of project Senehase Nagam. The day was filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments, as we shared a day full of games, songs, stories, and love.
The children greeted us with big smiles, warm hugs, and a genuine sense of familiarity—something that touched our hearts deeply. Their faces lit up as they recalled our past interactions, and it was clear that the bond we’ve built over time has only grown stronger.
We played a variety of games with them including fun group challenges that had everyone laughing and cheering. The children’s energy was infectious, and their enthusiasm made every game even more enjoyable. It was wonderful to see them so engaged and having so much fun, not just with the games, but also with one another and all of us present.
We sang songs together, with the children showing out their favorite tunes and songs and even teaching us some of their own. They also shared with us about their daily routines, school activities, studies and their dreams for the future which allowed us to connect in a deeper level and those stories were really inspiring too.
We also gave them gifts which they were very grateful and eager to receive as their faces lit up with bright smiles. Their gratitude, expressed through heartfelt hugs and sincere smiles, made the day even more memorable. Their love and warmth were truly overwhelming. It was beautiful to see how much they valued our company.
It was not just about the games we played or the songs we sang, but about the genuine connections we build with these amazing children. It was a day full of laughter, joy, and love—a day we will all carry with us in our hearts.
We said our goodbyes with the promise of coming back, knowing that these children have made a lasting impact on us, just as we hope to have made on them.
