Have you ever witnessed what happens when a community comes together with a single purpose?TO LIFT OTHERS? This past year, under our theme “We Rise by Lifting Others,” we transformed that question into action. Across 41 impactful projects, spanning six avenues—Community Services, Professional Development, Club Services, International Outreach, Public Image, and Sports & Recreation. We didn’t just serve; we grew, both individually and collectively.
Our 11 flagship initiatives demonstrated depth and dedication. Project Maatha 7.0, our community staple, reached its seventh consecutive year, continuing to support and inspire. Meanwhile, Project Senhase Naagam and Love Diary ran tirelessly throughout the RI year, proving that consistent care creates lasting impact and sustaining our commitment to lasting change.
Service began close to home with initiatives born from care and connection. Through Sinaha, we provided essential dry rations to the cleaning staff, acknowledging their invaluable daily contributions. Our Red on Hold initiative established a pad bank in the girls’ washrooms in the faculty,an important step in promoting dignity and accessibility. We also hosted the “Hugs” , a night in celebrating love creating moments of bonding and belonging among members that reinforced our supportive community spirit.
Our focus extended into civic engagement with purpose. During the election season, ViralVote 2.0 and ElectNext educated youth across the country on the power and responsibility of voting. Behind the Bars offered an eye-opening visit to Welikada Prison, fostering deep empathy and civic awareness.,. As part of ElectNext, a visit to Parliament allowed students to experience democracy in action—a truly empowering experience that bridged theory with real-world engagement.
We sprinkled joy throughout the year with vibrant celebrations and global connections. Mistletoe Eve and Halloween Fest brought more than 300 participants together, igniting creativity, community, and festive spirit. Our international Service projects—Equitopia, Inkspire, Echoes of the World, and Hope in Bloom—connected us with rotaractors frrom Malaysia, Brazil, and India, proving once again that compassion knows no borders.
Throughout, our club grew stronger and more diverse. Welcoming 32 new members, we swelled to over 73 active participants, representing Sinhala, Tamil, and English mediums. Their ideas, passions, and perspectives infused our community with renewed energy and broadened vision.
Looking back, this year was more than a compilation of projects—it was a journey of profound connection, cultural exchange, civic empowerment, and genuine celebration. And while we cherish these accomplishments, we’re excited for the journey ahead—eager to build on our legacy, explore new horizons, and lift even more lives together.
